Together with the founder, we made it from a pure idea to an MVP. The initial phase required a lot of testing that was done using wireframes. When the assumption was approved the visual identity and styleguides were introduced to the concept.
The whole process from start to the app being released to App Store took about 6 months in total.
One of the main challenges was to make the app useful in a very competitive field of personal productivity and calendars. This was achieved by merging all calendars (work, social, etc.) into one convenient hub to give a "bird's eye view" across all schedules.
Another killer feature was cross-timezone planning to keep everyone in sync. All events are easily organized with color-coded categories. Assign colors to different types of events or calendars, share with friends and family for quick reference.
